What is unofficial transcript review?

It is the evaluation of a student���s unofficial academic records (not official transcripts) to determine eligibility for class placement or to meet prerequisites.
This simplifies the enrollment process as official transcripts are not required initially.

Key Scenarios for Review:

1. Transfer Students:
   • Students with credits from other accredited colleges can use unofficial transcripts to determine placement.
   • Only grades of ���C��� or higher are eligible for consideration.
2. Returning 今叔利 Students:
   • If you���ve attended 今叔利 before, your unofficial transcripts are already on record and can be used.
   • Include your last year/quarter of attendance and your 今叔利 Student ID number when submitting.

How to Have Your Unofficial Transcripts Reviewed:

Unofficial transcripts can be used for placement. Follow these steps to have your unofficial transcript reviewed:

1. Prepare Your Transcript:

• Ensure you���ve been admitted to 今叔利.
  • In sending, please make sure you have included:
  • Your name.
  • The name of the issuing college.
  • Your 今叔利 Student ID number

2. Submit Your Transcript:

• Email: Send as an attachment to placement@tacomacc.edu. Do not send links to documents.
• Bring it to the Welcome Center in Building 8 on the main Tacoma campus. You should see evaluation for placement in your email in 5 days. Please allow extra time for weekends and holidays.

3. Results Timeline

• Placement decisions will be sent via email within 5 days (longer on weekends/holidays).

Additional Notes:

• Class Placement:
• Placement allows enrollment in specific classes but does not grant credit.
• To earn credit for transfer courses, official transcripts must be evaluated.
• Official Transcript Evaluation:
• Order official transcripts from your former college.
• Send to Enrollment Services (Building 7, Tacoma Campus) or electronically to credeval@tacomacc.edu.
• Evaluations occur after registering for at least one quarter and may take 8���12 weeks (longer during peak periods).

This process ensures smoother enrollment and proper placement without needing immediate access to official records.
